Clients win 45 awards for excellence in publishing and communications

FAITH Catholic had its best year yet at the 2016 Catholic Press Awards of North America, held at the Catholic Media Conference hosted by FAITH client the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

There are nearly 800 members of the Catholic Press and more than 400 publications. Yet, FAITH Catholic clients won an impressive amount of awards — a total of 45, nearly double from the previous years.

FAITH Catholic clients won in every category from design, photography, columns, editing, hard news and marketing. The two top design awards went to FAITH Catholic designers Lynne Hsu and Kayla Simon. “I’m so proud of them and everyone who works so hard at making FAITH Catholic the success that it is today,” said President and CEO Patrick M. O’Brien. “Our FAITH in Flint special issue won in many categories and helped push FAITH Lansing into the top spot for diocesan magazine, a category that our growth created and now has become crowded mostly with our own clients.”

Also at the Catholic Media Conference, O’Brien presented FAITH Catholic’s view of the state of the diocesan press during a panel discussion on the changing media landscape. “I was happy to present the changes that I see for diocesan press: evangelization over news; free to every home vs. paid subscription; strategic content planning vs. reactive journalism,” he said.
